Perhaps you have moved for your job and are looking forward to London city working. You just have to now find that perfect place you can call home, your personal corner of the city. The London Gazette is here to help guide you in finding flats to rent in London. Where to start?
Now you have chosen to move you need to think where to. Do you want to be close to work? or a more leafy part that will mean a compute in? perhaps a more trendy area that where you work? near river? a park? or right in the center of town? The Gazzette advices that if you are newbie to London the best thing you can do is have a stroll about t get a feel for the different boughs you might want ot live in and trust your instincts. Listen to your friends advice on good and bad neighborhoods, look for a flat close to your work, think about living toward the city’s larger parks as this can make it very nice for the first time settler for example, Hampstead Heath which covers a large area of North London and is stunningly beautiful. Or perhaps go round the trendier and happening areas, like Shoreditch, Hackney or the well know West End, for a place to chill out and the party. The Office for National Statistics has a web site that lets you find out about any neighbourhood though we advise to check areas out as they say in London as well its about the street to the manor.
Flat hunting
Now to find the perfect abode in the area. You have two choices either Estate agent or brave it and go it alone with the likes of Gum Tree. Both have pros and cons the big one is that although an Estate agent will more than likely cost you more its will cut down on the fact that these days Gum Tree and similar sites are just swamped with bogus fraudulent offers that will waste your time all day long.
The best sites to use for Estate agents are Right Move and Find a Property they will search though all the available property listings so that you can browse and choose the one you like. Phone up straight away though as the market is fast and it will go very quickly. The next Option is the trawl that is Gum Tree here if it is true good to be true such as a large flat in Notting Hill for £200 per week then it will be a scam no one is going away and just want a nice tenant to look after the place and isn’t too worried about the money. You will find good places though and it can be a god send for finding sharing houses.
Moving
So there you go hope your happy in your new place, it can be a good to chat to the current tenants to get a low down on the area and anything you need to know about the flat. So enjoy and see you on South Bank for a beer.
